Eclipse of the Sun and Moon

In honor of the solar eclipse in August 2017.  Each element of this painting shows a different aspect of the phenomenon.  The gold edged sphered at the top from left to right show the sun's inner corona with prominences, the corona at minimum sunspot activity, and the corona at maximum sunspot activity.  The middle spheres show the eclipse of the moon on the left and an eclipse of a sun on the right.  The bottom panel, from left to right, shows the path of totality for the August 2017 solar eclipse.  The bottom middle shows the changing appearance of the sun during a partial eclipse.  And the bottom right shows various passages of the full moon through the earth's shadow.
