New Mexico dirt and rock on cotton

A painting made from dirt and rock gathered from the edge of a highway along a canyon wall on our way to a river where my mama used to take us camping when we were little. Made for all those returning to places that stir up the dusts of their origins.

Like all red rock canyons, this painting is red in the golden afternoon light and shades of mauve and purple when the light turns blue in the evenings.
